Baby carriers are very safe to use when used correctly, following some basic safety guidelines.
The main principles of safe carrying are to ensure your baby's airways are maintained at all times, with good airflow, their face in view at all times, with their chin off their chest.
Wear your baby high and tight, ensure their back is well supported so your baby does not become slumped, you should be hands free and your carrier hold your baby as sturdy as if they were being held in arms.
Use a well made, good quality sling or carrier that enables a natural physiological position for your baby, so they are supported in a spread squat position with a tilted pelvis.
