The Izmi Baby Carrier is elegant, understated, lightweight and flexible. The simple buckle carrier made entirely of soft cotton for you and your baby's comfort. The washable material is lightweight and quick drying.
Positions The cotton Izmi Baby Carriers offer 4 carrying positions that can be used as your baby develops, on your front: parent facing and outward facing, on the side and on the back.
The super soft bib and strap covers are such a good accessory to add on to your order to keep your carrier dry from a dribbly baby.
Enjoy the flexibility of a fabric sling with the ease of clipping together with buckles, but with no bulk, fitting into it's own small storage bag.
Designed by an experienced babywearing consultant, it is unique with wide straps that spread across your shoulders, and the head support can be used in various ways to support your baby's head.
It really is a buckle carrier that you can use from newborn (7lb), with the hip-healthy seat easily adjusted with velcro inside the waistband to narrow it or with use of the included booster cushion. The seat widens offering knee to knee support to fit up to walking age, 12/18 months (33lb).
The booster cushion can also be used for a more ergonomic seat when outward facing or for baby to have arms out when they are able to sit unaided.
Fabric 100% cotton
Washing Instructions Gentle machine wash at 30 degrees Celsius. Do not bleach. Reshape while wet and hand dry. Do not tumble dry. Do not dry clean. Do not iron.
In the box 1x Izmi Baby Carrier, 1x Booster Cushion, 1x Storage bag, 1 x Instruction Manual
Tested to Safety Standard EN13209-2: 2015. 12 month warranty
A note about facing outwards:
This position is suitable only once your baby is able to confidently stabilise their own head against the movements of your body. This requires conscious, sustained control of their neck and upper back muscles, which most babies will develop by around 4-5 months.
Some babies may show a preference for facing away from you a little earlier than this; a side carry where your baby can see the world, but you can still support their head against your body using the headrest of the carrier will be more suitable until your baby has full head control.
For all babies; the outwards facing carrying position is suggested only for short periods of time whilst your baby is awake and alert., with a recommended maximum of around 15 minutes. Return your baby to a parent-facing position for sleeping, and if they show any signs of tiredness or over stimulation.
We recommend only using the outwards facing carrying position for babies aged up to around 10 months. By 6 months (or when your baby can sit unaided), most babies will be able to turn to look around them as they wish. At this stage we would recommend returning your baby to a parent-facing front, side or back carrying position, as this will be more ergonomic for both of you, and facilitate your baby’s social and language development.
